Acalyph australis,
a
30-50cm tall annual herb, occurs in fields or on roadsides. Leaves
are in an alternate arrangement, 3-8cm long, long oblong to broadly
lanceolate, with sharp serrations on margins and tips somewhat
pointed. Inflorescences generate themselves at axils, with small
male flowers like racemes on the upper parts and female flowers
embraced in unique-shaped involucres at the bases. Bloom time:
August-October. |
