Acer micranthum, a
small deciduous tree of 6-10m in height and 15cm in diameter with
gray-brown barks, commonly grows in mountainous regions. With no
hairs, the young branches tinge themselves with red. The phyllotaxis
is the opposite; the 5-8cm in diameter leaf blades are palmately
cleft in three, and the lobes extend long in a tail way, with double
serrations on the margins. Dioecious or monoecious: A. micranthum
bears 20-30, about 4mm across, yellow-green flowers in 4-10cm long
inflorescences. Bloom time: June-July. |
