Aconitum japonicum ssp. napiforme, a
toxic perennial herb, inhabits forests in mountainous regions on the
Japan Sea side, stems measure approximately one meter in height, and
leaves are cleft in three; the leaflets also cut themselves in
shallow to midways. Flowers, blue-purple, each 3-4cm in length, come
in inflorescences and bloom in order from the bottom. Bloom time:
