Adenophora remotiflora,
a perennial herb inhabiting somewhat damp, cliffy spaces in hilly
districts, grows 50-100cm in height. Stems lean at upper parts and
sparsely branch. With long petioles, leaves are of alternate
phyllotaxis, oval or broad-lanceolate, 5-10cm long, 3-8cm wide,
somewhat thin and soft, with coarse serrations on margins. The
leaves on the upper parts are small-sized and lack petioles. Flowers
sparsely set themselves in panicles on stem tips and droop down.
Light blue-purple corollas are bell-shaped with tips spreading out,
2--3cm long, and lobes somewhat bending backward. Calyx lobes are in
a lanceolate shape with entire margins. Bloom time:
August-September. |
