Adenophora remotiflora,
a perennial herb inhabiting somewhat damp, cliffy spaces in hilly
districts, grows 50-100cm tall. Stems lean at the upper parts and
are sparsely branched. With long petioles, leaves are of alternate
phyllotaxis, oval or broad-lanceolate, 5-10cm long, 3-8cm wide,
somewhat thin and soft, with coarse serrations on margins. The
leaves on the upper parts are small and lack petioles. Flowers are
sparsely set in panicles on the stem tips and droop downward. Light
blue-purple corollas are bell-shaped with tips spreading out, 2--3cm
long, and lobes somewhat bending backward. The calyx lobes are
lanceolate in shape, with entire margins. Bloom time:
August-September. |
