Adonis multiflora lives
on a lowland deciduous-tree forest floor; the flower bud comes out
from underground in March, about when Somei
yoshino is
in blossom, and opens when in full sunlight. The pale green sepals
are half-length of the lemon-yellow petals. The sepals look like
they adhered to the petals, which clarifies where this species
differs from A.
ramosa, a
very difficult-to-distinguish species in the same genus. Shimane RDB
lists A. multiflora as
a CR+EN. Bloom time: Bloom time: March-April. |
