Ajuga ciliata var. villosior / Kaijindou カイジンドウ

 
Ajuga cilliata var. vilosior, a perennial herb inhabiting grasslands or deciduous tree forests in hilly districts, grows to 30-40 centimeters in height, with opposite 3-8cm long coarse leaves and so many fine hairs on the whole. Due to those hairs, stems and leaves look somewhat whitish. Leaves are in the shape of an oval or broad-oval, 3-8cm long, with coarse serrations on the margins. Lip-shaped, 1-1.2cm long reddish-purple flowers cluster on the upper part of the stems. Bloom time: Bloom time: May-June.
