Alisma
canaliculatum is a perennial plant in shallow water
like paddies or ponds; its rhizomes are short, with many
fibrous roots. Radical leaves have 20-50cm-long petioles;
blades measure 5-17cm long, 3-7cm wide, in the shape of an
oval to oval-like oblong. Flower stalks grow to 0.5-1.2m in
height and make themselves in whorls of 3-4 branches, and
the branches do the same again and again. And, small white
flowers make themselves bloom on those branch ends. The
flowers, 7-8mm across, bloom in the mornings and wither
within the days. Bloom time: June-October. |
