Amitostigm gracilis, a
small orchid species occurring on cliffy, damp rocks, is found in
moss carpets. A bit aslant, A. gracilis is 5 to 15cm tall, with a
single leaf at the base. Approximately ten 0.3mm across flowers
appear on the stem tip and open facing the same direction in the
summertime. The Shimane Red Data Book lists this species as a VU.
