Ampelopsis glandulosa.
var. heterophylla, a deciduous liane, twines around other things
and plants with dichotomous tendrils; stems die each year, but the
bases lignify themselves to grow to as big as 4cm in diameter.
Leaves are of alternate phyllotaxis; blades measure 8-11cm long,
5-9cm wide, almost circular, and cleft themselves in 3-5, with the
lobe's tips pointed, coarse, shallow serrations on margins, bases
cordate, and rough hairs (trichomes) on the backside. Cymes appear
oppositely with the leaves and set many small flowers. Fruit is
purple or emerald, which is normal; however, most are abnormal.
Bloom time: July-August. |
