Amphicarpaea bracteata
ssp. edgeworthii var. japonica is an annual many that inhabit
forest edges/fringes, with downward hairs on stems. Leaves comprise
three leaflets with adpressed hairs on both faces. The leaflets
measure 3-6cm long and in a broad-ovate shape. Flowers are 1.5-2cm
long; vexilla are purple, and alae and carinae are whitish. Legumes
are flat and 2.5-3cm long, with adpressed hairs on sutures and
generally 3-5 seeds inside. Bloom time: August-October. |
