Anaphalis margaritacea var. angustifolia, a small variety of Anaphalis margaritacea, is found in eastern Japan and inhabits grasslands in mountainous regions. Stems with white hair grow as tall as 30cm, are in crowds, and branch only at the upper portions, neither on the lower nor the middle parts. Leaves are 2-6mm long and linear. Stem apexes set many 7-10 mm in diameter flower heads; involucral bracts are white and dry-membraneous. Bloom time: August-September.
