Anemone flaccida
is a perennial herb of 15-25cm in height, inhabiting colonies in
damp places in fields and mountains. Radical leaves dissect
themselves into three lobes, afresh deeply cleft in two segments.
On-stem leaves are in whorls of three petiole-less leaves. Stem tops
set 2 or 3 flower stalks, each with approximately 2cm-in-diameter
two white flowers on their tops. This species, lacking petals, has
5-7 petal-like sepals; the bottom side of the sepals tinge red.
Bloom time: April-May. |
