Anemone hupehensis var. japonica is
a perennial herb, 50-80cm in height, inhabiting forest edges in
villages. Radical leaves are ternate compounds with long petioles;
leaflets are cleft in 3-5 lobes, having uneven margins serrated.
On-stem leaves are in a whorl of 2-3; upper ones are smaller and
next to petiole-less. Flowers lack petals; sepals are about 30 in
number; outer ones are thick and tinge light green, while inside
ones are petaloid, red-purple, or white. Bloom time:
September-November. |
