Anemone keiskeana,
a perennial, so-called spring ephemeral, inhabits valleys or forests
in mountainous regions, with its thick and purple rhizomes crawling
sideways. Radical leaves, dark green, consist of 3 leaflets, each
triangular-oval shaped with serrations on the margin. In the
springtime, the leaves turn a light brown with white spots, and
their undersides are purple-tinged. Leaves on stems are whorled at
the stem tops with three segments, and in the center, borne
peduncles with 3-3.5 cm in diameter white to light purple flowers,
opening facing upward. Bloom time: February-March. |
