Artemisia japonica is a perennial herb that grows in
sunny fields and on mountains, characterized by its almost hairless
appearance. Leaves on the stems that do not set flowers measure
3.5-8cm long, spatulate-shaped, with dentations on the upper halves.
Branches to put flowers grow to 0.5-1m in height; leaves on the
middle parts are generally spatulate-like, cuneate-shaped; some have
dentations on the upper halves, and some are pinnately cut in
variable ways. Flower heads, 1.5cm in diameter, are oval and set in
a panicle. Bloom time: August-November. |
