Astilbe microphylla is a perennial plant that reaches
30-80cm and grows in somewhat damp locations, characterized by long
brown hairs on its stems and petioles. Leaves are bi- to tetra-imparipinnate
compounds; leaflets, 1-4cm long, in the shape of an oval or obovate,
with tips pointed in a tail way, and margins double serrated. Long
and narrow, the inflorescences are conical; the lateral branches,
short, grow obliquely upward. Flowers are generally light red,
measuring about 4mm in length, with sepals and petals 5 in number,
respectively; stamens are 10, and pistil styles are 2. Bloom time:
June-August. |
