Atractylodes ovata, a
perennial found in somewhat dry grasslands, grows to 0.3-1m in
height, with thin and stiff stems and white vellus hairs throughout,
which are conspicuous when sprouting. Leaves with long petioles cut
themselves in three to five, with spinous serrations on the margins.
Flower heads are 1.5-2cm in diameter, with fish bone-like bracts
around involucres. Tubular flowers are white and rarely tinge red.
Bloom time: September-October. |
