Bidens pilosa var. minor, an
annual herb widely seen in the tropical to temperate regions of the
world, came from abroad in this country and spread widely. Although
the whole plant resembles
Bidens pilosa var. pilosa,
it has 4-7 white, ligulate flowers on its
flower heads. The ligulate flowers are generally acarpous; in
contrast, the tubular flowers bear fruit. Bloom time:
September-November. |
