Bletilla striata is
a perennial orchid species growing on sunny, moist slopes, its
pseudobulbs being oblate-spheroid shaped and arranged sideways.
Stems measure 30-70cm in height, and the leaves are lanceolate,
20-30cm long. Some red-purple blooms are in April-May. Sepals and
petals measure 3cm in length. The lip is oval, featuring numerous
lamellae. Bloom time: April-May. |
