Boehmeria platanifolia is
an approximately one-meter-tall perennial in forest fields and
mountains. Leaves are of opposite phyllotaxis, 10-20cm long,
orbicular-ovate, thin, and with many tips shallowly cleft in three.
Leaf bases cut themselves abruptly as if cut off, and margins have
coarse serrations and leaf surfaces with short hairs. Female
inflorescences are more slender than B. japonica var. longispica,
and their flowers set themselves somewhat apart. Bloom time:
August-October. |
