Boenninghausenia albiflora var. japonica is a perennial plant, growing to 50-80 cm in height, found on forest edges in mountainous regions. It has triternate compound leaves, a thin texture, pellucid dots, and a distinctive odor. Branch tips bear cymes in which bloom many small white 4-petaled flowers.
