Buxus microphylla var. insularis, an evergreen shrub or
small tree, 0.3-1m in height, prefers to grow in limestone areas in
hilly districts. Leaves are opposite, each leathery and glossy, in
the shape of an oval or broad oblong, 1-1.5cm in length.
Inflorescences emerge from the branch top's axils, in which many
small yellow flowers bloom; female flowers come in the center, and
males surround them. Bloom time: March-April. |
