Buxus microphylla var. insularis,
an evergreen shrub or small tree, 0.3-1m in
height, prefers to grow in limestone areas in hilly districts.
Leaves are opposite, each leathery and glossy, in the shape of an
oval or broad oblong, 1-1.5cm in length. Inflorescences emerge from
the branch tops' axils, in which many small yellow flowers bloom;
female flowers come in the center, and males surround them. Bloom
time: March-April. |
