Calanthe tricarinata,
with spherical pseudobulbs, is a perennial
orchid species in deciduous tree forests like beech forests in a
temperate zone. Leaves, fascicled in 2-4 blades, are approximately
20cm in length. Flower stalks, measuring 30-50cm in height, set a
dozen or so flowers in racemes; sepals and side petals are
yellow-green; lips purplish-brown, the margins crinkled, having
three crest-like swellings in the middles. Bloom time: April-May. |
