Canavalia lineata is a perennial vine inhabiting
seashores. The stem grows well to reach as far as 5m off. The leaf
consists of 3 lobes thick in the obovate or orbicular shape, 6-12cm
in length, 4-10cm in width—leaf axils deriver cymes with 2 or 3
light red-purple flowers in each of them. Legume pods with seeds are
big, measuring 5-10cm in length and 3-3.5cm in width, with 2-5
sources each. Bloom time: June-September. |
