Canavalia lineata is a perennial vine that inhabits seashores. The stem grows well, reaching as up to 5m off the ground. The leaf consists of 3 lobes, thick in the obovate or orbicular shape, 6-12cm in length, 4-10cm in width. Leaf axils derive cymes with 2 or 3 light red-purple flowers in each of them. Legume pods with seeds are big, measuring 5-10cm in length and 3-3.5cm in width, with 2-5 seeds each. Bloom time: June-September.
