Cardamine hirsuta, a
biennial herb originating in Europe or East Asia, occurs on
roadsides, lawns, or gardens. It resembles related native species,
Cardamine flexuosa, but still keeps radical leaves even in flowering
time. The leaves measure 2-10cm long, pinnately and deeply cut in,
the lobes comprising 3-7 pairs, each broad oblong, and the terminal
segments are the largest. Leaves are not many on the stems. Flowers
are white; petals measure 2-3mm in length. Bloom time:
February-April. |
