Cardiandra alternifolia
is a 20-70cm-tall perennial herb growing in moist forests. Its
leaves are of alternate phyllotaxis, in the shape of a broad
lanceolate, 8-20cm in length, with pointed tips, margins with
serrations, and hairs on both sides. Stem tops produce bisexual and
ornamental flowers. The decorative flowers look like those of
hydrangeas. Bloom time: July-September. |
