Carex kobomugi,
a perennial common in seashore sandy soil, grows to 10-20cm in
height, stems being obtusely 3-ridged, challenging, and thick.
Leaves are 4-6mm broad, linear, and margins sandy. Stem tips emerge
ovate-to-long-oblong racemes and set light yellow-green spikelets in
them. Dioecious is rarely monoecious; utricles measure approximately
1cm in length, about the same as scales. Stigmas are three in
number. Bloom time: April-July. |
