Cayratia japonica is
a vine perennial generally found in thickets or wastelands. It has
pedate compound leaves of five lobes; the full leaflet is
oblong-ovate, and the terminal ones measure 4-8cm long in the shape
of an oblong-ovate. The flowers are approximately 5mm in diameter.
The calyxes are small, and the petals are green and 4. The fruit
ripens in black, but in many cases, it results in insect galls.
