Centaurium tenuiflorum, an
originating-in-Mediterranean Coast annual or biennial, grows wild in
places like vacant lots as tall as 20 centimeters. On-stem leaves
are hollow, with four ridges, and branch well at the upper parts.
Leaves are of opposite phyllotaxis, in the shape of an obovate, with
entire margins. Radical leaves do not form rosettes. About 8mm in
diameter, many pink flowers set themselves on stem tips; corollas
divide themselves in five, and calyx lobes are about half as long as
floral tubes. Bloom time: June-July. |
