Cephalanthera erecta var. subaphylla
is a perennial orchid species in hilly
district forests. Its stems grow to 10-15cm in height in flowering
time, the leaves retrogressing as if to change into sheaths; the
highest-positioned ones, 1-2cm in length, look close to standard,
though. Shoot tops set 2-3 about 1cm long, half-open white flowers.
There are one or two bracts at the base of peduncles. The lip's
central lobes equip three yellow-brown ridges. Bloom time: May-June. |
