An evergreen perennial herb occurring in
forests in hills or mountains,
Chimaphila japonica
grows to 10-15cm in height. Leaves, 2 or 3, attach themselves to
stem nodes in a whorl-like arrangement, 2-3.5cm long, in a
lanceolate shape, with pointed serrations on the margins. Stem tips
set one to two, approximately 1 cm in diameter, with white flowers.
Bloom time: June-July. |
