Chrysosplenium faurie, a perennial herb growing in wet
portions of forests along valleys in mountainous regions, extends
runners to set 2-3 pairs of leaves at the ends. Rosettes remain at
the bases in flowering time. Flower stalks, dark red, measuring
about 10cm tall, are leafless or set as a pair of opposite leaves in
the shape of an oval-oblong, approximately 3 cm long. The leaves
have 6-10 teams of obtuse serrations on the margins. Upper bracts
are bright yellow and sepals, 4 in number, light green, and erect.
Stamens, 8 in number, are longer than the sepals. Anthers are dark
red-purple. Bloom time: May. |
