Cimicifuga acerina, a
perennial herb with a height of 0.5-1m, inhabits forests in
mountainous regions. Leaves are of a unipinnately compound leaf; the
lobes are concentric, circle-like, with short hairs on the edges,
each leaf measuring 7-20cm, splitting into five to nine lobes. Stem
tops bring forth spikes in which many small white flowers, with
single pistils and many stamens, bloom; the petals and petal-like
sepals are both fugacious. Bloom time: August-September.
