Circaea mollis is a
20-60cm-in-height perennial occurring in forest fields and
mountains, in the shade of a tree, with stems with downward hairs
and, in many cases, red-brown-tinged nodes. Leaves are of opposite
phyllotaxis, long-ovate, with pointed tips and shallow serrations on
the margins, measuring 5-13cm in length and 1.5-4cm in width.
Stem tips or axiles on upper parts create small white or pale red
flowers; petals are two and cleft in two. The fruit (nut) has hooked
hairs around. Bloom time: August-September. |
