Cladium jamaicense subsp. chinense, a
monocot perennial height of 1-2m, grows densely in wetlands near the
seashores. The stems are stiff and grow thick to make an extensive
stock, and the linear leaves, 0.8-1cm in width, are also
challenging. Their upper parts bear 5-7 spikes with dense
three-millimeter oblong spikelets. Bloom time: August-October. |
