Clematis stans, an
approximately one-meter-in-height perennial herb, inhabits
grasslands or forest edges in mountainous regions, the lower part of
stems becoming woody. Leaves of a ternate compound leaf are
opposite, cleft shallowly in three oval leaflets with long stalks
and pointed tips. Many light purple flowers bloom facing downwards
in cymes emerging from the stem tops or leaf axils. Bloom tie:
