Codonopsis lanceolata is
a vine perennial found in the foot of mountains or open fields;
leaves are of opposite phyllotaxis, 3-10cm in length, in the shape
of a long oval, generally 3-4 gathering together at tips of lateral
branches, with back surfaces tinging powdery white. Whitish-green
flowers set themselves at lateral branches' tips and bloom, facing
downward. Corollas with purple-brown dots are 2.5-3.5cm in diameter,
wide bell-shaped, splitting in five on end and the lobes bending
backward. Bloom time: August-October. |
