Corchoropsis tomentosa, a 30-90cm-tall
annual herb, occurs on roadsides, fields, or the like, with many
stellate hairs on stems, leaves, sepals, capsules, etc. Leaves are
of opposite phyllotaxis, in an oval shape, 2-7cm in length,
1.5-3.0cm in width. Flowers, yellow, 1.5-1.8cm in diameter, singly
put themselves on peduncles borne at axils, five petals, and
linearly lanceolate sepals that turn backward. Stamens are 10-15,
among which there are five longer-than-the-stamens staminodes.
Capsules are slender, 2.5-3.5cm in length. Bloom time:
August-September. |
