Corydalis heterocarpa var. japonica
is a perennial herb, growing 40-60cm in height, and is commonly
found on roadsides or coastal forest edges. The whole is hairless
and tinged with a powdery-white hue. Leaves are of a biternate
compound leaf, 10-20cm long; the leaflets are ovate and have
serrations on the margins. Stem tops bear cyme-like inflorescences,
each set with 15-20mm-long yellow flowers. Bracts are lanceolate-shaped,
and peduncles measure 5mm in length. Capsules are narrow, long-oval,
approximately 2cm in height, and do not form thin and fat portions,
unlike their original species,
Corydalis heterocarpa.
