Corydalis heterocarpa
var. japonica is a perennial herb, 40-60cm in height,
occurring on roadsides or coastal forest edges. The whole is
hairless and tinges powdery-white. Leaves are of a biternate
compound leaf, 10-20cm in length; the leaflets are ovate and have
serrations on the margins. Stem tops emerge cyme-like inflorescences
and set 15-20mm-long yellow flowers in them. Bracts are lanceolate-shaped,
and peduncles measure 5mm in length. Capsules are narrow,
long-oblong, about 2cm in height, not forming thin- and fat
portions, unlike its original species, Corydalis heterocarpa.
