Cremastra appendiculata
is a perennial found in a shade of a tree in a hilly
district. It affords pseudobulbs, arranged in a line from new to
old, and the last one creates a single large oblong,
tapering-to-a-point leaf and a flower stalk at the base. It blooms
in May-June. After the flower, the leaf dies, following the
appearance of a new plate, which is to go dormant in Autumn. 30-50cm
in height peduncle sets up a raceme of 10-20 long and narrow light
greenish-brown, partly reddish-purple flowers. Bloom time: May-June. |
