Daphniphyllum macropodum var. humile, an
evergreen shrub that falls at the base and obliquely stands upward
to 1-3m in height, inhabits forests in hilly districts with heavy
snowfalls; the branches are persevering and flexible. Leaves are
alternate; blades measure 10-15cn long, 3-4cn wide, in the shape of
a long-oblong to oblanceolate, with entire margins and 2-4cm-long
red petioles. Leaf veins are 8-10 pairs, fewer than its original
species, Daphniphyllum
macropodum.
Dioecious: They bloom in racemes that have emerged from axils on
previous year's branches. Male flowers lack both sepals and petals,
and females can have some sepals but next to nothing. Bloom time:
