Deinostema violaceum is
an annual occurrence in wetlands near ponds or marshes. Stems branch
at the bases, measuring 10-20cm in height; occasionally, the bases
fall and crawl on the ground. Leaves are 7-10mm long, with tips
pointed. Flowers with 10-15cm-long peduncles and sepals almost
divide themselves into five, measuring 4-6mm in length. Corollas,
purple to red-purple, are bilabiate; the lower lip's middle lobes
are significantly large and cleft in two. Bloom time:
