Diodia teres, an
annual herb originating in North America, live in dry sandy places
like seashores or dry riverbeds, reaching 10-50cm in height. Of
alternate phyllotaxis, leaves measure 1-3.5cm long, 2-4mm wide,
linear-like lanceolate, with tips shortly pointed in a prickle way,
and upper and lower surfaces with stiff and short hairs that feel
sandy, especially those on margins. Axils set 2-4 small light red
flowers; corollas are 4-6mm long and tubular. Bloom time:
July-August. |
