Diplomorpha ganpi, a
small tree or shrub that rarely exceeds 1m in height, grows in
grasslands, both in fields and on mountains, characterized by thick,
adpressed hairs on its branches. All the components die back,
leaving the bases intact each year. In alternate phyllotaxis, leaves
are arranged in a spiral; blades measure 2-4cm long, 1-2cm wide, in
the shape of an oblong, with margins entire and significantly short
petioles. Stem tips bear many white to light red flowers; calyx
tubes are 7-1mm long, with tips cleft in four and adpressed hairs on
the outsides. Bloom time July-October. |
