Diplomorpha trichotoma
is a deciduous shrub, 1-2m in height, growing in sunny forest edges
in mountainous regions. Its branches are green at first, then turn
brown-purple, and sprigs emerge at the points little above axils,
which characterize this species. Leaves are of alternate phyllotaxis,
in an oval-oblong shape, 2-8cm in length and 1-3.5cm in width, with
entire margins. Petioles connecting the leaves to the branches are
minimum. Current units put around ten yellow-white flowers at the
apexes; calyx tubes, approximately 7mm in length, are cleft four at
the tops, and the outsides are yellow-white and hairless. Bloom
time: July-September. |
