Elatine triandra var. pedicellata:
An annual herb, submerged or hydrophytic, occurs at the water's
edges of rivers, watercourses, or paddies. Stems spread in all
directions, crawling on the ground and reaching lengths of 2-10cm.
Leaves are opposite phyllotaxis, in a broad lanceolate to narrow
oval shape, with tips obtuse and no serrations on margins; with
aerial leaves, thick and glossy, 4-12mm long, 1.5-3mm wide, and in
submerged ones, green-white and thin texture, and becoming more
extensive, 25mm long and 4mm wide. Flowers, 1 mm in diameter, are
singly set at the axils, with short, 1-2.5mm long peduncles and
three red-purple petals. Bloom time: June-October. |
