Euonymus japonicus is
an evergreen shrub found in coastal forests or edges, growing to
2-6m in height. Leaves, the phyllotaxis being opposite or rarely
alternate, are thick and oblong, 3-8cm in length, 2-4cm in width,
with shallow serrations on margins. Cymes emerge from the leaf axils
with 7mm-in-diameter green-white or white-green flowers, 7-15 in
number, in June-July. Fruit matures in red, cleft in four, in
November-January. Bloom time: June-July. |
