Euonymus sieboldianus, a
deciduous small- tree, generally grows up to 3-5m, some reaching 10m
tall. With four obtuse ridges, the branches are green, but the side
getting the sunlight tinge red-purple. Leaves with 5-20mm-long
petioles are alternate; blades measure 5-15cm long, 2-8cm wide, long
oblong, with fine serrations on margins and no hairs on both
surfaces. The current year's branches emerge cymes and set up 1-7
small green-white flowers. Those flowers are 4-petaled, each 1cm in
diameter, with four stamens. Bloom time: May-June. |
