Euonymus sieboldianus, a
deciduous small tree, generally grows up to 3-5m, some reaching 10m
tall. With four obtuse ridges, the branches are green, but the side
that gets the sunlight tinges red-purple. Leaves with 5-20mm-long
petioles are alternate; blades measure 5-15cm long and 2-8cm wide,
oblong, with fine serrations on the margins and no hairs on both
surfaces. The current year's branches emerge in cymes and bear 1-7
small, green-white flowers. Those flowers are 4-petaled, each 1cm in
diameter, with four stamens. Bloom time: May-June. |
