Fagopyrum
cymosum, a perennial herb, 40-100cm in height,
reportedly originating in central Asia, escaped from
cultivation, and some grow wild. Stems grow in
clusters from tubers, stand erect and branch well,
and are hollow, occasionally tinging brown. Leaves,
wavy, are alternate, 4-12cm long, 3-11cm wide, in
the shape of a triangular to cordate, with entire
margins and 2-10cm- long petioles. Axils on upper
parts emerge racemes with 5-6mm across white
flowers. Bloom time: September-October. |
