Filipendula multijuga, a 0.3-1m height perennial, grows
erect in clusters in sunny spots in mountainous regions, and
branches on the upper parts. Leaves are of an imparipinnate compound
leaf, each cleft into 5-10 leaflets (in many cases five); the
terminal leaflets are exceedingly significant. Stipules are
ear-like, membranous, and stand erect. Stem tips bear numerous,
small (6-8 mm in diameter), and red, occasionally white flowers, in
a corymbous arrangement. Bloom time: June-August. |
